Programme: Haydn, Kerem, Tšaikovski
The 21st Tallinn Chamber Music Festival is a unique musical event that is gaining increasing recognition alongside other international chamber music festivals. This year’s festival, titled “Love Letters”, takes place from August 23rd to 30th and features eight chamber concerts.
For the third year in a row, the festival’s artistic director is the internationally acclaimed Estonian violinist Anna-Liisa Bezrodny. Her idea has been to unify the festival’s concerts under a common theme in order to create an artistic whole. The main theme, “Love Letters”, is based on the love letters of several well-known composers such as Beethoven, Mozart, Wagner, Chopin, Brahms, and many others. These letters are divided into sub-themes, giving each concert a distinct title — “Secrets of the Soul”, “Many Faces of Love”, “Beethoven and Josephine, Mozart and Constanze”, “Endless Love”, “In Memory of a Great Artist”, “Music – the Language of Love”, and “Testament of Love”.
The themed concerts take the listener on a journey through chamber music, where top performers present masterpieces from the global chamber music repertoire alongside Estonian compositions. One of the highlights of the festival is a new work by Mihkel Kerem, known for his magical and soulful compositional style — a violin sonata dedicated to Anna-Liisa Bezrodny. In this piece, the composer captures the feeling of emptiness following the loss of a human relationship.
Tickets priced at 25€ / 18€ available at Piletilevi and at the venue 30 minutes before the concert.
