Kadi Jürgens is a talented mezzo-soprano who graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and furthered her studies at the International Opera Academy in Ghent, Belgium. She has received numerous accolades, including the gold medal at the 2023 Manhattan International Competition in New York. Her most notable opera roles include Carmen Bizet’s Carmen, Mädchen in Weill’s Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny at the Dutch National Opera and Flemish Opera (where she also portrayed Anna I in Weill’s ballet The Seven Deadly Sins and Concepción in Ravel’s L’Heure espagnole), the mother, teacup, and butterfly in Ravel’s L’Enfant et les Sortilèges at Opéra de Baugé in France, Lucia in Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana, Andromache in Märt-Matis Lille’s Tulleminek, Mrs. Grose and Nancy in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw and Albert Herring, Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Orlando in Handel’s Orlando, Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Carmen in Peter Brook’s La Tragédie de Carmen, Lotte Lenya in Weill’s LoveMusik, and Mrs. Green in Van Parys’ Private View. In addition, she has performed with renowned orchestras such as the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Oulu Symphony Orchestra, Flanders Symphony Orchestra, Belgian National Orchestra, and the Casco Phil Chamber Orchestra, and has participated in various projects both in Estonia and internationally.
Thill Mantero is a versatile Franco-Italian artist who studied music, theater, and dance at London’s Trinity College of Music and further trained in English National Opera’s The Knack programme. His career spans contemporary music, baroque, opera, and musicals, with notable roles such as Guglielmo, Don Giovanni, and Count Almaviva (Mozart’s Così fan Tutte, Don Giovanni, and Le Nozze di Figaro), Ben (Menotti’s The Telephone), the doctor (Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande), and others. He has also appeared in oratorios including Brahms’ A German Requiem, Fauré’s Requiem, and Dvořák’s Te Deum, musicals such as Passion and Radio Broadway Célèbre Hollywood, and chamber music, such as Mahler’s Des Knaben Wunderhorn. Mantero has collaborated with ensembles such as Le Balcon, Accroche Note, and Hanatsu Miroir.
